Sit/Lie City Council Hearing

  • Honolulu Hale 530 South King Street Honolulu, HI, 96813 United States (map)

The City Council committee on Executive Matters and Legal Affairs is meeting next week to discuss several bills that would expand the ineffective and inhuman sit/lie "nuisance law" policy. Bills 83, 87 & 88 need to be publicly opposed so our elected officials know that their constituents want a real solution to the issue of houselessness, and not further criminalization. Even if you cannot attend, please submit written testimony. The council needs to hear empathy, true compassion and a strong call for reform from all across the island. If you don't have time to write testimony, you can still OPPOSE the bills with a simple click of a button:

Testify online.

All 9 council members sit on this committee. Call your council member today, tomorrow or Monday and urge them to vote against these bills.
